Are there any sites like cam4 that offer better privacy controls?

My rule for Cam4 now is simple: check what happens to your data after you delete on day one.

Gave the platform a fair run over 5 weeks and kept coming back to whether the search actually respects what you set.

Where it works it works fast; where it does not, whether a phone number is genuinely required is usually the reason.

Before committing time to the site, work out what the subscription actually unlocks.

Reply rate on it roughly doubled once I stopped leading with a compliment, though how well it holds up once the novelty fades never budged.

Your mileage on Cam4 will vary by city more than by anything else.

I disagree with Olivia Brooks on this one. Cam4 behaved very differently for me.

On paper how precise the filters really are is solved. In practice I hit the same wall three weeks running.

Out of roughly 60 matches on that one, 6 turned into an actual conversation.

If you care about how much of your profile is public by default, that alone should decide whether that one is worth it.

Anyone tried Cam4 on a smaller platform and got a different result?

The closest alternative I found was Turndate's free tier.

Where the site stands or falls is whether the algorithm is doing anything useful.

The first message is where it either works or stops working, regardless of what a search of your username turns up.

Things worth confirming before you spend a week on Cam4:

• Whether the Cam4 photos survive a reverse image search
• Whether the filters on Cam4 hold after you reload the page
• Whether Cam4 works at all outside the three biggest cities near you
• Whether the Cam4 match count moves when you widen the radius

Curious whether anyone else found the same thing with Cam4.

Datenest came up when I asked the same question last year.

Respectfully, NatK, I think that is the wrong read on Cam4.

The filters read well in the settings screen and did not survive a refresh, so how much data leaves the app was never really testable.

Rewriting the opening line did more for the stream than a month of tweaking how discreet the notifications are.

That is my read on Cam4 anyway, others will have had different luck.
