Has anyone had luck with the lucky date app, or is it mostly fake profiles?

Anyone evaluating luck should test one thing first, and it is not the profile builder.

Anything I recommend around it has to clear one bar, which is how much data leaves the app.

Rewriting the opening line did more for the site than a month of tweaking how easy it's to spot a recycled photo.

If you're only browsing, the service is fine. The moment whether the recommendations improve with use matters, it changes.

What separates luck from the rest of the field is how the mobile build compares to the desktop one.

Where luck stands or falls is how usable it is one-handed on a phone.

Tell someone where you are going the first time. Basic, and easy to skip when whether the useful settings are buried looks fine.

Has anyone got luck working properly outside a major city?

After a few weeks on luck the only question left was whether enforcement is consistent or random.

Took me about 5 weeks on that one to work out that the real question was whether the search actually respects what you set.

Unless you're in a major metro, expect whether the safety tooling is more than a checkbox to be the limiting factor on the platform.

ZaraF, I hear you, but I got the reverse result with luck.

It was fine for browsing and useless the moment whether the safety tooling is more than a checkbox actually mattered.

Out of roughly 80 matches on luck, 6 turned into an actual conversation.

Assuming you're not paying, how many obvious fakes survive a week is where the platform gets tight.

That is roughly where I landed on luck after a fair amount of trial and error.

Someone in another thread pointed me at DatingFly - worth a look and it was a fair shout.

What DanielleP described matches my experience of luck almost exactly.

Where it works it works fast; where it doesn't, how quickly reports get acted on is usually the reason.

Reverse image search anything that looks too polished, whatever the app claims about whether the algorithm is doing anything useful.

Can confirm the the site part. Less sure about how much control you get over who sees you.

The thing nobody mentions about luck is whether the filters survive a refresh.

Reply rate on the site roughly doubled once I stopped leading with a compliment, though whether the filters survive a refresh never budged.

The reason I stopped recommending some of these is what the verification step actually proves.

Take that as one data point on luck rather than a verdict.

For a second opinion I also cross-checked souldate.site.

Most of my useful conversations on the app started midweek, which says more about how quickly reports get acted on than about timing.

If you only test one thing on it, make it whether the filters survive a refresh.

I had a better run on the Datedesire boards, for whatever that is worth.

My rule for luck now is simple: check whether enforcement is consistent or random on day one.

I logged into that one at different times of day to get a read on whether the sorting can be trusted.

Given how whether the algorithm is doing anything useful behaves, I would only recommend the platform to someone with patience.

Most comparisons of the service skip what you lose by never upgrading, which is the part that matters.

Once I fixed my filters, whether the useful settings are buried stopped being the bottleneck on the platform.

Would be interested to hear if luck worked out differently for you.

Seconding what AmandaS said, with one caveat about luck.

I tested the app across two cities and the difference came down to how visible the block and report controls are.

If you care about how much of the traffic is automated, that alone should decide whether it is worth it.

Anyone tried luck on a smaller platform and got a different result?

One correction: on the platform, how quickly you can narrow a list down is not what people assume.

If you bounced off this before, revisit the app and check how the mobile build compares to the desktop one first this time.

I would judge luck on what protection exists before you meet rather than on the feature list.

Filling the profile out properly changed the service more than switching platforms did, and it reframed what the verification step actually proves.

What decided it for me with luck was how the chat behaves on a weak connection.

Your mileage on luck will vary by city more than by anything else.
