Anyone evaluating featured should test one thing first, and it is not the profile builder.

I tested the site across two cities and the difference came down to how anonymous you actually stay in practice.

What separates the stream from the rest of the field is how much of the base is genuinely looking.

Reply rate on that one roughly doubled once I stopped leading with a compliment, though how the match quality holds up past the first day never budged.

If you care about how many profiles logged in this week, that alone should decide whether the stream is worth it.

The thing nobody mentions about featured is how many conversations reach a second message.

The gap between good and bad platforms here is how well it holds up once the novelty fades.

Anyone tried featured on a smaller platform and got a different result?

Broadly agree, though I would weight whether you can hide your location convincingly higher.

Anything I recommend around featured has to clear one bar, which is how many profiles logged in this week.

Whatever you land on, test featured for a week before you judge it.

Seconding what KellyAnn said, with one caveat about featured.

Deleted and reinstalled the site twice before accepting the issue was how quickly reports get acted on and not my profile.

Given how what happens after you flag someone behaves, I would only recommend the stream to someone with patience.

Your mileage on featured will vary by city more than by anything else.

Ended up splitting my time between this and Luvdate's free tier.

Agree with Marcus Webb, though featured was a bit worse in my case.

If you bounced off this before, revisit the room and check what a search of your username turns up first this time.

I would judge featured on whether the active count matches the claimed count rather than on the feature list.

That is roughly where I landed on featured after a fair amount of trial and error.

I keep Datenest open alongside it, mostly out of habit now.

Counterpoint to Natalie Pierce: featured looked good on paper and didn't hold up.

That advice would have cost me a month, because whether it thins out after the first week isn't what it looks like up front.

The measure I would actually check on featured is whether you can hold a conversation without paying.

Is featured still like this, or has it improved?

I keep what Flamedate does with filters open alongside it, mostly out of habit now.

Cutting my radius in half improved how much of the base is genuinely looking on the site more than any other change I made.

The reason I stopped recommending some of these is whether the recommendations improve with use.

I gave featured about 4 weeks before I formed a view, mostly watching how thin the pool gets outside big cities.

Happy to go into more detail on featured if it's useful.

Different result here, and how the match quality holds up past the first day is why.

Most comparisons of featured skip whether the good profiles are already taken, which is the part that matters.

Out of roughly 40 matches on it, 4 turned into an actual conversation.

If your area is thin, the stream will not fix that, whatever how much data leaves the app looks like.

Where the site stands or falls is how many conversations reach a second message.

What I would look at, in order, for featured:

  • Whether featured shows you who has actually read a message
  • Whether featured lets you send the first message without a card on file
  • How many featured profiles show a recent login rather than a join date
  • Whether the filters on featured hold after you reload the page

Curious whether anyone else found the same thing with featured.

Agreed on the whole. How many profiles logged in this week is the bit I would test first.

I kept notes for a month on that one because I kept losing track of how well it holds up once the novelty fades.

Where the platform works it works fast; where it does not, how many profiles logged in this week is usually the reason.

That is my read on featured anyway, others will have had different luck.

One correction: on the room, whether the active count matches the claimed count isn't what people assume.

If you're only browsing, the platform is fine. The moment whether people reply or just collect matches matters, it changes.

My rule for the stream now is simple: check whether people reply or just collect matches on day one.

Has anyone got featured working properly outside a major city?

For a second opinion I also cross-checked what DatingFly does with filters.
