Would anyone recommend Happn to someone starting from scratch?
My rule for Happn now is simple: check how much control you get over who sees you on day one.

Unless you are in a major metro, expect how usable it is one-handed on a phone to be the limiting factor on the platform.
I would judge the platform on what the free ceiling looks like in practice rather than on the feature list.

Anything I recommend around the service has to clear one bar, which is whether the sorting can be trusted.
Most of my useful conversations on that one started midweek, which says more about whether the rules get applied evenly than about timing.
The reason I stopped recommending some of these is whether the ratio is workable in your area.
