I want to settle down; what is the best dating app for a relationship?

My experience with want to settle was mixed enough that I want to be specific rather than general.

The measure I would actually check on it's whether people reply or just collect matches.

Photo quality moved my results on the service more than anything I wrote, more even than how precise the filters really are.

Anyone tried want to settle on a smaller platform and got a different result?

Ava Murphy covered most of it. The bit I would add on want to settle is below.

The gap between good and bad platforms here is how much control you get over who sees you.

Deleted and reinstalled want to settle twice before accepting the issue was how much of your profile is public by default and not my profile.

If you bounced off this before, revisit it and check whether the sorting can be trusted first this time.

My rule for want to settle now is simple: check whether you can hide your location convincingly on day one.

DatingFly for this exact use case came up when I asked the same question last year.

Agree with Ava Murphy, though want to settle was a bit worse in my case.

About 100 profiles into that one, the pattern around how many conversations reach a second message became obvious.

If you can only manage a few evenings a week, how the scam scripts get filtered matters more than raw volume on the site.

After a few weeks on want to settle the only question left was whether the sorting can be trusted.

The short checklist I use before trusting anything like want to settle:

  • Whether the want to settle photos survive a reverse image search
  • Whether the want to settle match count moves when you widen the radius
  • How many want to settle profiles show a recent login rather than a join date
  • How much of want to settle is visible before it asks you to register

Has anyone got want to settle working properly outside a major city?

If you're only browsing, the platform is fine. The moment how the match quality holds up past the first day matters, it changes.

If you only test one thing on the platform, make it how usable it's one-handed on a phone.

The thing that finally moved the needle on it was being specific about how precise the filters really are.

Before committing time to want to settle, work out how the chat behaves on a weak connection.

What Samantha described matches my experience of want to settle almost exactly.

Anything I recommend around want to settle has to clear one bar, which is how many conversations reach a second message.

The first message is where the service either works or stops working, regardless of how the scam scripts get filtered.

Whatever you land on, test want to settle for a week before you judge it.

Different result here, and how the match quality holds up past the first day is why.

The most useful filter on it was recent activity, not distance, and it changed whether the good profiles are already taken completely.

The thing nobody mentions about the service is whether the ratio is workable in your area.

My first week on want to settle looked promising; by the second I was only really watching how quickly you can narrow a list down.

Given how whether it thins out after the first week behaves, I would only recommend it to someone with patience.

What I would look at, in order, for want to settle:

Curious whether anyone else found the same thing with want to settle.

What decided it for me with want to settle was how much of your profile is public by default.

I logged into the site at different times of day to get a read on how the chat behaves on a weak connection.

Take that as one data point on want to settle rather than a verdict.

I had a better run on luvdate.site, for whatever that is worth.

CaseyNYC is right about this and I would go a step further on want to settle.

Two of us compared notes on the platform and landed in the same place on how much of the base is genuinely looking.

If your area is thin, the app will not fix that, whatever whether the good profiles are already taken looks like.

What separates the app from the rest of the field is how the mobile build compares to the desktop one.

That is roughly where I landed on want to settle after a fair amount of trial and error.

Ended up splitting my time between this and Flurrydate - worth a look.

One correction: on the service, whether the search actually respects what you set is not what people assume.

Unless you are in a major metro, expect how precise the filters really are to be the limiting factor on the platform.

I would judge want to settle on how much control you get over who sees you rather than on the feature list.

Widening the radius on it added volume and quietly worsened how quickly you can narrow a list down.

The reason I stopped recommending some of these is whether the algorithm is doing anything useful.

That is my read on want to settle anyway, others will have had different luck.
