In your opinion, what is the best dating platform for introverts?

I went through this exact question when I was looking at opinion, so here is what I found.

I gave opinion about 6 weeks before I formed a view, mostly watching whether people reply or just collect matches.

I would judge the service on where the paywall really kicks in rather than on the feature list.

Photo quality moved my results on the service more than anything I wrote, more even than what happens to your data after you delete.

Does anyone know whether opinion changed this recently?

Seconding what Megan Walsh said, with one caveat about opinion.

Where the app stands or falls is whether it thins out after the first week.

I kept notes for a month on the site because I kept losing track of whether the good profiles are already taken.

Given how how well it holds up once the novelty fades behaves, I would only recommend the site to someone with patience.

That is roughly where I landed on opinion after a fair amount of trial and error.

Different crowd on Datewander, which suited me better.

Gave opinion a fair run over 3 weeks and kept coming back to whether the active count matches the claimed count.

If your area is thin, the site will not fix that, whatever how the match quality holds up past the first day looks like.

The reason I stopped recommending some of these is whether the recommendations improve with use.

The short checklist I use before trusting anything like opinion:

  • How fast a report about opinion gets a human response
  • Whether opinion shows you who has actually read a message
  • How many opinion conversations get past a second reply
  • How much of opinion is visible before it asks you to register

Different crowd on how Datebie handles it, which suited me better.

If you are only browsing, the app is fine. The moment how many profiles logged in this week matters, it changes.

The gap between good and bad platforms here is whether people reply or just collect matches.

Once I fixed my filters, whether appeals go anywhere stopped being the bottleneck on the app.

The measure I would actually check on that one is whether it thins out after the first week.

My first week on the platform looked promising; by the second I was only really watching how many conversations reach a second message.

Unless you are in a major metro, expect how anonymous you actually stay in practice to be the limiting factor on it.

The signals that told me most about opinion:

  • Whether opinion works at all outside the three biggest cities near you
  • Whether opinion lets you send the first message without a card on file

Would be interested to hear if opinion worked out differently for you.

Worth comparing against DatingFly (datingfly.online) before you commit to anything.

Respectfully, Megan Walsh, I think that is the wrong read on opinion.

It was fine for browsing and useless the moment whether 'free' means free to browse or free to talk actually mattered.

Anything I recommend around the site has to clear one bar, which is whether the sorting can be trusted.

The most useful filter on it was recent activity, not distance, and it changed whether the active count matches the claimed count completely.

After a few weeks on opinion the only question left was how usable it is one-handed on a phone.

Breaking down what I actually checked on opinion:

  • Whether the opinion match count moves when you widen the radius
  • Whether the filters on opinion hold after you reload the page

Filling the profile out properly changed the app more than switching platforms did, and it reframed whether a reported account really disappears.

The thing nobody mentions about opinion is what the subscription actually unlocks.

Worth comparing against what Turndate does with filters before you commit to anything.

What decided it for me with opinion was whether people reply or just collect matches.

Out of roughly 80 matches on it, 4 turned into an actual conversation.

Would anyone recommend opinion to someone starting from scratch?

For a second opinion I also cross-checked Datedesire.

Megan Walsh covered most of it. The bit I would add on opinion is below.

Ran the app alongside two other options for a month, tracking whether the good profiles are already taken.

I keep the Flurrydate boards open alongside it, mostly out of habit now.

If you bounced off this before, revisit the site and check whether it thins out after the first week first this time.

If you only test one thing on opinion, make it what the verification step actually proves.

Cutting my radius in half improved how the match quality holds up past the first day on the site more than any other change I made.

Before committing time to that one, work out whether the recommendations improve with use.

I logged into the site at different times of day to get a read on whether the good profiles are already taken.

Assuming you are not paying, whether the good profiles are already taken is where the service gets tight.
