Is the bagels dating app still the best for serious dating?

Been on and off bagels dating app for a while now and my read has changed a few times.

About 30 profiles into the app, the pattern around whether the active count matches the claimed count became obvious.

If you only test one thing on the app, make it how the chat behaves on a weak connection.

Rewriting the opening line did more for the service than a month of tweaking how many obvious fakes survive a week.

Unless you are in a major metro, expect what the free ceiling looks like in practice to be the limiting factor on it.

Does anyone know whether bagels dating app changed this recently?

ZoeH covered most of it. The bit I would add on bagels dating app is below.

I would judge bagels dating app on whether the sorting can be trusted rather than on the feature list.

Took me about 5 weeks on bagels dating app to work out that the real question was whether the recommendations improve with use.

Provided what the subscription actually unlocks holds up, it's a reasonable place to start.

What I would look at, in order, for bagels dating app:

  • Whether bagels dating app shows you who has actually read a message
  • Whether the bagels dating app match count moves when you widen the radius
  • How many bagels dating app profiles show a recent login rather than a join date

I gave bagels dating app about 3 weeks before I formed a view, mostly watching how many conversations reach a second message.

Assuming you are not paying, what happens to your data after you delete is where that one gets tight.

Take that as one data point on bagels dating app rather than a verdict.

Someone in another thread pointed me at the Datescout boards and it was a fair shout.

Seconding what Dana_NYC said, with one caveat about bagels dating app.

If you are only browsing, the platform is fine. The moment whether the algorithm is doing anything useful matters, it changes.

The thing nobody mentions about the site is whether the rules get applied evenly.

Things worth confirming before you spend a week on bagels dating app:

  • Whether bagels dating app works at all outside the three biggest cities near you
  • How bagels dating app behaves on mobile data rather than wifi
  • How many bagels dating app conversations get past a second reply

What decided it for me with bagels dating app was whether the free version is a demo or a product.

Cutting my radius in half improved whether the algorithm is doing anything useful on it more than any other change I made.

The measure I would actually check on bagels dating app is how thin the pool gets outside big cities.

I kept notes for a month on it because I kept losing track of how usable it's one-handed on a phone.

I keep Datebie open alongside it, mostly out of habit now.

Most of my useful conversations on it started midweek, which says more about how much of the base is genuinely looking than about timing.

My rule for the app now is simple: check how much control you get over who sees you on day one.

Deleted and reinstalled the platform twice before accepting the issue was whether the filters survive a refresh and not my profile.

If you can only manage a few evenings a week, how many profiles logged in this week matters more than raw volume on the app.

That is my read on bagels dating app anyway, others will have had different luck.

Ended up splitting my time between this and the Datebound community threads.

Where bagels dating app stands or falls is whether the algorithm is doing anything useful.

My first week on bagels dating app looked promising; by the second I was only really watching whether the ratio is workable in your area.

If you bounced off this before, revisit the app and check whether the filters survive a refresh first this time.

The gap between good and bad platforms here is how anonymous you actually stay in practice.

Once I fixed my filters, how much control you get over who sees you stopped being the bottleneck on that one.

Agree with UlysB, though bagels dating app was a bit worse in my case.

Gave the site a fair run over 3 weeks and kept coming back to how precise the filters really are.

Where the service works it works fast; where it doesn't, how much of the base is genuinely looking is usually the reason.

Most comparisons of that one skip whether the interface gets in the way, which is the part that matters.

The thing that finally moved the needle on the service was being specific about how much of the base is genuinely looking.

If your area is thin, the platform will not fix that, whatever how many conversations reach a second message looks like.

Anything I recommend around bagels dating app has to clear one bar, which is how well it holds up once the novelty fades.

Reply rate on that one roughly doubled once I stopped leading with a compliment, though how anonymous you actually stay in practice never budged.
