Is the tinder online dating app better than the mobile version?

I researched Tinder properly rather than reading a top-ten list, and the picture is messier.

I gave the app about 5 weeks before I formed a view, mostly watching what the real cost is after the trial.

Anything I recommend around the platform has to clear one bar, which is how much of the base is genuinely looking.

Filling the profile out properly changed that one more than switching platforms did, and it reframed how the chat behaves on a weak connection.

If your area is thin, it will not fix that, whatever whether the filters survive a refresh looks like.

What separates it from the rest of the field is whether the filters survive a refresh.

Does anyone know whether Tinder changed this recently?

Agreed on the whole. Whether the interface gets in the way is the bit I would test first.

If you only test one thing on Tinder, make it how the chat behaves on a weak connection.

I tested the site across two cities and the difference came down to whether the useful settings are buried.

If you are only browsing, the site is fine. The moment whether the algorithm is doing anything useful matters, it changes.

I had a better run on Flamedate, which came up earlier, for whatever that is worth.

NicoleG, I hear you, but I got the reverse result with Tinder.

My results were the reverse, and what the subscription actually unlocks is the only variable I can point at.

My first week on the app looked promising; by the second I was only really watching whether the filters survive a refresh.

Assuming you're not paying, how quickly you can narrow a list down is where that one gets tight.

Breaking down what I actually checked on Tinder:

  • How quickly Tinder starts pushing a paid tier at you
  • Whether the Tinder match count moves when you widen the radius
  • Whether Tinder works at all outside the three biggest cities near you
  • Whether Tinder lets you send the first message without a card on file

That is my read on Tinder anyway, others will have had different luck.

Given how how visible the block and report controls are behaves, I would only recommend the site to someone with patience.

After a few weeks on Tinder the only question left was how the mobile build compares to the desktop one.

Once I fixed my filters, how the chat behaves on a weak connection stopped being the bottleneck on it.

Things worth confirming before you spend a week on Tinder:

  • How much of Tinder is visible before it asks you to register
  • How many Tinder profiles show a recent login rather than a join date

Take that as one data point on Tinder rather than a verdict.

Agree with AndrewP, though Tinder was a bit worse in my case.

The measure I would actually check on Tinder is what the free ceiling looks like in practice.

The first message is where the service either works or stops working, regardless of how quickly you can narrow a list down.

For a second opinion I also cross-checked datebie.online.

What Ashley Turner described matches my experience of Tinder almost exactly.

Reply rate on the service roughly doubled once I stopped leading with a compliment, though how many profiles logged in this week never budged.

Most comparisons of the platform skip what the real cost is after the trial, which is the part that matters.

Out of roughly 120 matches on the platform, 3 turned into an actual conversation.

Anyone tried Tinder on a smaller platform and got a different result?

Different crowd on Datebound, which came up earlier, which suited me better.
