Is there a better alternative for tinder for people who want to actually read bios?

This comes up a lot and the answer for Tinder is less obvious than it looks.

My first week on that one looked promising; by the second I was only really watching whether it thins out after the first week.

I would judge the platform on whether the good profiles are already taken rather than on the feature list.

Reply rate on it roughly doubled once I stopped leading with a compliment, though whether the search actually respects what you set never budged.

The signals that told me most about Tinder:

  • How quickly Tinder starts pushing a paid tier at you
  • How Tinder behaves on mobile data rather than wifi
  • How many Tinder profiles show a recent login rather than a join date
  • Whether the Tinder photos survive a reverse image search

Anyone tried Tinder on a smaller platform and got a different result?

Different result here, and how much of the base is genuinely looking is why.

Most comparisons of the app skip how the match quality holds up past the first day, which is the part that matters.

Took me about 6 weeks on the site to work out that the real question was how the scam scripts get filtered.

That is roughly where I landed on Tinder after a fair amount of trial and error.

Someone in another thread pointed me at what Datedesire does with filters and it was a fair shout.

Gave Tinder a fair run over 4 weeks and kept coming back to how many conversations reach a second message.

Provided whether the active count matches the claimed count holds up, it's a reasonable place to start.

Someone in another thread pointed me at Flamedate - worth a look and it was a fair shout.

Seconding what ChrisP said, with one caveat about Tinder.

If you care about how many profiles logged in this week, that alone should decide whether that one is worth it.

The thing nobody mentions about the service is how much data leaves the app.

Take that as one data point on Tinder rather than a verdict.

Have to differ with LoganF there. Tinder was fine until the second week.

Everything claimed is technically true and still adds up to a bad week once how present the moderators actually are bites.

The measure I would actually check on Tinder is how much of the base is genuinely looking.

The thing that finally moved the needle on the service was being specific about how the match quality holds up past the first day.

Would anyone recommend Tinder to someone starting from scratch?

I had a better run on Datebie, for whatever that is worth.

One correction: on the platform, whether it thins out after the first week is not what people assume.

Turning off read receipts made the platform far less stressful, though it did nothing for whether the ratio is workable in your area.

What decided it for me with the platform was how many profiles logged in this week.

I gave Tinder about 5 weeks before I formed a view, mostly watching whether the algorithm is doing anything useful.

Given how how much of the base is genuinely looking behaves, I would only recommend the site to someone with patience.

If this one does not work out, Flurrydate (flurrydate.online) covers similar ground.
