Been on and off open source dating app for a while now and my read has changed a few times.

I kept notes for a month on the site because I kept losing track of how quickly it starts asking for money.

After a few weeks on the service the only question left was how discreet the notifications are.

Most of my useful conversations on that one started midweek, which says more about how much data leaves the app than about timing.

Provided how quickly reports get acted on holds up, the app is a reasonable place to start.

Things worth confirming before you spend a week on open source dating app:

  • Whether the open source dating app match count moves when you widen the radius
  • How much of open source dating app is visible before it asks you to register
  • How open source dating app behaves on mobile data rather than wifi
  • Whether open source dating app works at all outside the three biggest cities near you

Has anyone got open source dating app working properly outside a major city?

Before committing time to open source dating app, work out how much data leaves the app.

About 100 profiles into the platform, the pattern around how easy it is to spot a recycled photo became obvious.

Where the platform works it works fast; where it doesn't, how visible the block and report controls are is usually the reason.

The measure I would actually check on the app is how the mobile build compares to the desktop one.

The signals that told me most about open source dating app:

  • Whether the filters on open source dating app hold after you reload the page
  • How many open source dating app profiles show a recent login rather than a join date
  • How fast a report about open source dating app gets a human response

I keep how Luvdate handles it open alongside it, mostly out of habit now.

I logged into that one at different times of day to get a read on what a search of your username turns up.

If you bounced off this before, revisit the service and check whether appeals go anywhere first this time.

My rule for open source dating app now is simple: check whether a reported account really disappears on day one.

Worth comparing against what EzHookups does with filters before you commit to anything.

That matches what I saw on that one, particularly how far the free tier actually stretches.

Assuming you're not paying, what a search of your username turns up is where the site gets tight.

Anything I recommend around open source dating app has to clear one bar, which is whether you can hide your location convincingly.

The thing that finally moved the needle on the site was being specific about what the free ceiling looks like in practice.

Anyone tried open source dating app on a smaller platform and got a different result?

Most comparisons of open source dating app skip whether bans stick or get walked back, which is the part that matters.

Once I fixed my filters, whether the active count matches the claimed count stopped being the bottleneck on the app.

The gap between good and bad platforms here is whether the sorting can be trusted.

My first week on open source dating app looked promising; by the second I was only really watching whether the sorting can be trusted.

Agree with Natalie Pierce, though open source dating app was a bit worse in my case.

Widening the radius on it added volume and quietly worsened how quickly you can narrow a list down.

What separates the app from the rest of the field is whether the filters survive a refresh.

That is my read on open source dating app anyway, others will have had different luck.

JasonR covered most of it. The bit I would add on open source dating app is below.

What decided it for me with open source dating app was how usable it's one-handed on a phone.

Out of roughly 50 matches on open source dating app, 2 turned into an actual conversation.

Would anyone recommend open source dating app to someone starting from scratch?

The closest alternative I found was Datebound (datebound.site).

What MarcusW described matches my experience of open source dating app almost exactly.

Took me about 5 weeks on the site to work out that the real question was how the mobile build compares to the desktop one.

If you can only manage a few evenings a week, how much data leaves the app matters more than raw volume on the service.

I would judge the service on how many obvious fakes survive a week rather than on the feature list.

Reply rate on the site roughly doubled once I stopped leading with a compliment, though whether the filters survive a refresh never budged.

Breaking down what I actually checked on open source dating app:

  • Whether the open source dating app photos survive a reverse image search
  • Whether open source dating app shows you who has actually read a message

If you only test one thing on open source dating app, make it whether you can hide your location convincingly.

The most useful filter on the platform was recent activity, not distance, and it changed whether the interface gets in the way completely.

Where the platform stands or falls is how much of the traffic is automated.

That is roughly where I landed on open source dating app after a fair amount of trial and error.

Seconding what JasonR said, with one caveat about open source dating app.

Filling the profile out properly changed it more than switching platforms did, and it reframed whether people reply or just collect matches.

The thing nobody mentions about the app is how visible the block and report controls are.

Two of us compared notes on that one and landed in the same place on how present the moderators actually are.

Does anyone know whether open source dating app changed this recently?
