Short version on dating apps for men: it depends far more on your area than on the brand name.

Gave the site a fair run over 2 weeks and kept coming back to whether the sorting can be trusted.

After a few weeks on dating apps for men the only question left was how precise the filters really are.

The most useful filter on the app was recent activity, not distance, and it changed how granular the visibility controls get completely.

If you bounced off this before, revisit the service and check how quickly you can narrow a list down first this time.

My rule for the site now is simple: check whether people reply or just collect matches on day one.

Has anyone got dating apps for men working properly outside a major city?

Adding a counterpoint about whether people reply or just collect matches.

Most comparisons of the platform skip how usable it's one-handed on a phone, which is the part that matters.

Took me about 2 weeks on the site to work out that the real question was how the mobile build compares to the desktop one.

Different crowd on datewander.site, which suited me better.

YvetteC is right about this and I would go a step further on dating apps for men.

Deleted and reinstalled the service twice before accepting the issue was whether the ratio is workable in your area and not my profile.

If you care about whether the useful settings are buried, that alone should decide whether the platform is worth it.

What separates that one from the rest of the field is how quickly you can narrow a list down.

I keep Datescout for this exact use case open alongside it, mostly out of habit now.

I disagree with YvetteC on this one. Dating apps for men behaved very differently for me.

The filters read well in the settings screen and didn't survive a refresh, so whether the useful settings are buried was never really testable.

Unless you're in a major metro, expect how usable it's one-handed on a phone to be the limiting factor on the site.

The gap between good and bad platforms here is whether the search actually respects what you set.

Someone in another thread pointed me at Turndate - worth a look and it was a fair shout.

Seconding what YvetteC said, with one caveat about dating apps for men.

What decided it for me with dating apps for men was how discreet the notifications are.

Widening the radius on the platform added volume and quietly worsened whether the sorting can be trusted.

Before committing time to that one, work out how the mobile build compares to the desktop one.

The thing that finally moved the needle on the platform was being specific about whether the recommendations improve with use.

If you only test one thing on dating apps for men, make it how well it holds up once the novelty fades.

Out of roughly 40 matches on dating apps for men, 3 turned into an actual conversation.

Would be interested to hear if dating apps for men worked out differently for you.

I keep the DatingFly boards open alongside it, mostly out of habit now.

Respectfully, YvetteC, I think that's the wrong read on dating apps for men.

On paper whether the interface gets in the way is solved. In practice I hit the same wall three weeks running.

Where the service stands or falls is how the mobile build compares to the desktop one.

Does anyone know whether dating apps for men changed this recently?

Ended up splitting my time between this and Luvdate if you want a smaller pool.

I logged into the app at different times of day to get a read on how thin the pool gets outside big cities.

Provided how far the free tier actually stretches holds up, the site is a reasonable place to start.

Anything I recommend around the app has to clear one bar, which is how thin the pool gets outside big cities.

Whatever you land on, test dating apps for men for a week before you judge it.
