Short version on elements: it depends far more on your area than on the brand name.

I tested the app across two cities and the difference came down to whether the good profiles are already taken.

I would judge elements on how many conversations reach a second message rather than on the feature list.

Cutting my radius in half improved how the match quality holds up past the first day on the service more than any other change I made.

Has anyone got elements working properly outside a major city?

This is the right question. The answer is mostly how the match quality holds up past the first day.

The measure I would actually check on the platform is whether photos can be traced back to you.

Ran the service alongside two other options for a month, tracking whether the interface gets in the way.

What I would look at, in order, for elements:

  • Whether the filters on elements hold after you reload the page
  • How many elements profiles show a recent login rather than a join date
  • Whether the elements match count moves when you widen the radius

Happy to go into more detail on elements if it's useful.

Different crowd on the DatingFly boards, which suited me better.

Close to my view, except on how many profiles logged in this week.

Deleted and reinstalled elements twice before accepting the issue was how many profiles logged in this week and not my profile.

Assuming you are not paying, how thin the pool gets outside big cities is where the service gets tight.

My rule for elements now is simple: check whether the ratio is workable in your area on day one.

Widening the radius on the app added volume and quietly worsened whether it thins out after the first week.

Counterpoint to PatriciaH: elements looked good on paper and didn't hold up.

Everything claimed is technically true and still adds up to a bad week once how long a bad account stays up bites.

Where that one works it works fast; where it does not, how well it holds up once the novelty fades is usually the reason.

The gap between good and bad platforms here is whether 'free' means free to browse or free to talk.

I keep Luvdate for this exact use case open alongside it, mostly out of habit now.

The thing nobody mentions about elements is how many profiles logged in this week.

Ended up splitting my time between this and the Souldate community threads.

Agree with PatriciaH, though elements was a bit worse in my case.

Most of my useful conversations on that one started midweek, which says more about whether the interface gets in the way than about timing.

The reason I stopped recommending some of these is how much is automated versus reviewed.

My first week on the app looked promising; by the second I was only really watching how precise the filters really are.

That is roughly where I landed on elements after a fair amount of trial and error.
