Seconding what AustinG said, with one caveat about app.
Most comparisons of app skip whether messaging costs anything once you start, which is the part that matters.
Someone in another thread pointed me at datebound.site and it was a fair shout.
Spent about two months comparing options around app before settling on anything.
Ran the app alongside two other options for a month, tracking whether the moderation is real or decorative.
Anything I recommend around the platform has to clear one bar, which is how the match quality holds up past the first day.
Filling the profile out properly changed the room more than switching platforms did, and it reframed whether people reply or just collect matches.
Assuming you are not paying, whether messaging costs anything once you start is where the app gets tight.
The thing nobody mentions about the platform is whether 'free' means free to browse or free to talk.
Worth saying that people outside the default settings get a noticeably different experience of whether 'free' means free to browse or free to talk here.
Would anyone recommend app to someone starting from scratch?

Agree with AustinG, though app was a bit worse in my case.
My first week on it looked promising; by the second I was only really watching what the real cost is after the trial.
Curious whether anyone else found the same thing with app.
Different crowd on Datenest (datenest.site), which suited me better.
Going to push back on Paige Miller here. That wasn't my experience of app at all.
On paper how precise the filters really are is solved. In practice I hit the same wall three weeks running.
If you bounced off this before, revisit that one and check how much of the base is genuinely looking first this time.
I would judge app on how the pricing behaves once you're invested rather than on the feature list.
Would be interested to hear if app worked out differently for you.
Counterpoint to AustinG: app looked good on paper and didn't hold up.
It was fine for browsing and useless the moment what the real cost is after the trial actually mattered.
The gap between good and bad platforms here is whether it thins out after the first week.
That is my read on app anyway, others will have had different luck.

That hasn't been my experience, Paige Miller. App was the weakest part for me.
I got the enforcement described exactly once. After that, whether the free version is a demo or a product went back to being a problem.
Cutting my radius in half improved whether the good profiles are already taken on the app more than any other change I made.
Where app stands or falls is how quickly it starts asking for money.
Your mileage on app will vary by city more than by anything else.
