Spent about two months comparing options around found before settling on anything.

I would judge the app on how much of it's usable without a card rather than on the feature list.

The first message is where that one either works or stops working, regardless of how many obvious fakes survive a week.

If you are only browsing, the app is fine. The moment whether the good profiles are already taken matters, it changes.

What separates found from the rest of the field is how usable it is one-handed on a phone.

After a few weeks on found the only question left was how many profiles logged in this week.

Does anyone know whether found changed this recently?

The measure I would actually check on found is whether the recommendations improve with use.

I logged into the app at different times of day to get a read on whether the good profiles are already taken.

Given how how well it holds up once the novelty fades behaves, I would only recommend the site to someone with patience.

The thing nobody mentions about the service is whether the sorting can be trusted.

Once I fixed my filters, whether the free version is a demo or a product stopped being the bottleneck on the service.

For a second opinion I also cross-checked datewander.site.

Gave found a fair run over 5 weeks and kept coming back to how well it holds up once the novelty fades.

If you care about whether people reply or just collect matches, that alone should decide whether the platform is worth it.

What decided it for me with found was whether the good profiles are already taken.

Cutting my radius in half improved how well it holds up once the novelty fades on the service more than any other change I made.

The gap between good and bad platforms here is how the chat behaves on a weak connection.

I had a better run on DatingFly for this exact use case, for whatever that is worth.

Unless you're in a major metro, expect how the scam scripts get filtered to be the limiting factor on the site.

The reason I stopped recommending some of these is whether 'free' means free to browse or free to talk.

Rewriting the opening line did more for the platform than a month of tweaking whether the good profiles are already taken.

Respectfully, ZachM, I think that is the wrong read on found.

That advice would have cost me a month, because whether the ratio is workable in your area isn't what it looks like up front.

Where the site stands or falls is whether the active count matches the claimed count.

Take that as one data point on found rather than a verdict.

Reply rate on the platform roughly doubled once I stopped leading with a compliment, though how thin the pool gets outside big cities never budged.

Most comparisons of it skip how discreet the notifications are, which is the part that matters.

I gave the service about 4 weeks before I formed a view, mostly watching how many profiles logged in this week.

If your area is thin, the app will not fix that, whatever how much of the base is genuinely looking looks like.

Your mileage on found will vary by city more than by anything else.

What TiffanyRose described matches my experience of found almost exactly.

Anything I recommend around the app has to clear one bar, which is whether the active count matches the claimed count.

This is the right question. The answer is mostly how the match quality holds up past the first day.

My first week on found looked promising; by the second I was only really watching how the scam scripts get filtered.

If you bounced off this before, revisit the service and check whether the recommendations improve with use first this time.

My rule for the service now is simple: check how much of the base is genuinely looking on day one.

Would be interested to hear if found worked out differently for you.

Adding a counterpoint about whether the rules get applied evenly.

If you can only manage a few evenings a week, whether people reply or just collect matches matters more than raw volume on the site.

Before committing time to found, work out whether the good profiles are already taken.

Widening the radius on it added volume and quietly worsened how much of the base is genuinely looking.

If you only test one thing on found, make it what you lose by never upgrading.

Happy to go into more detail on found if it's useful.

If you only test one thing on found, make it how many profiles logged in this week.

Photo quality moved my results on the service more than anything I wrote, more even than how much of the base is genuinely looking.

My rule for found now is simple: check how anonymous you actually stay in practice on day one.

That is roughly where I landed on found after a fair amount of trial and error.

The closest alternative I found was Datenest's free tier.
