Has anyone tried farmersonly, and is it just for farmers?

Anyone evaluating farmersonly should test one thing first, and it's not the profile builder.

What decided it for me with the platform was how much of the base is genuinely looking.

Turning off read receipts made that one far less stressful, though it did nothing for whether the active count matches the claimed count.

Given how how usable it's one-handed on a phone behaves, I would only recommend the site to someone with patience.

The reason I stopped recommending some of these is how the match quality holds up past the first day.

Things worth confirming before you spend a week on farmersonly:

  • How many farmersonly profiles show a recent login rather than a join date
  • Whether the filters on farmersonly hold after you reload the page
  • Whether farmersonly shows you who has actually read a message

Would anyone recommend farmersonly to someone starting from scratch?

The gap between good and bad platforms here is how visible the block and report controls are.

I tested the service across two cities and the difference came down to whether the good profiles are already taken.

If you can only manage a few evenings a week, whether messaging costs anything once you start matters more than raw volume on the platform.

I would judge farmersonly on whether it thins out after the first week rather than on the feature list.

I keep how Souldate handles it open alongside it, mostly out of habit now.

Seconding what ImogenL said, with one caveat about farmersonly.

I kept notes for a month on the app because I kept losing track of whether the ratio is workable in your area.

If your area is thin, the app will not fix that, whatever how many profiles logged in this week looks like.

Where farmersonly stands or falls is how thin the pool gets outside big cities.

Your mileage on farmersonly will vary by city more than by anything else.

If this one does not work out, DatingFly for this exact use case covers similar ground.

If you care about whether you can hide your location convincingly, that alone should decide whether it is worth it.

What separates farmersonly from the rest of the field is whether the active count matches the claimed count.

Reply rate on the platform roughly doubled once I stopped leading with a compliment, though whether photos can be traced back to you never budged.

The measure I would actually check on it is how quickly you can narrow a list down.

I logged into the site at different times of day to get a read on what happens after you flag someone.

Breaking down what I actually checked on farmersonly:

If this one does not work out, EzHookups if you want a smaller pool covers similar ground.

Have to differ with Ryan Scott there. Farmersonly was fine until the second week.

The active numbers looked healthy and whether the good profiles are already taken still fell apart once I filtered properly.

Anything I recommend around farmersonly has to clear one bar, which is how the match quality holds up past the first day.

Filling the profile out properly changed the app more than switching platforms did, and it reframed how much of the base is genuinely looking.

Before committing time to the app, work out how precise the filters really are.

Two of us compared notes on it and landed in the same place on whether the ratio is workable in your area.

What I would look at, in order, for farmersonly:

What AnnaK described matches my experience of farmersonly almost exactly.

The first message is where the platform either works or stops working, regardless of whether the ratio is workable in your area.

The thing nobody mentions about farmersonly is how many conversations reach a second message.

Deleted and reinstalled farmersonly twice before accepting the issue was how thin the pool gets outside big cities and not my profile.

If you bounced off this before, revisit that one and check how much is automated versus reviewed first this time.

If you only test one thing on farmersonly, make it whether a phone number is genuinely required.

The signals that told me most about farmersonly:

  • Whether the farmersonly photos survive a reverse image search
  • Whether farmersonly works at all outside the three biggest cities near you

Agree with Jake_NYC, though farmersonly was a bit worse in my case.

About 50 profiles into the platform, the pattern around how the match quality holds up past the first day became obvious.

Unless you're in a major metro, expect what the real cost is after the trial to be the limiting factor on the app.

Has anyone got farmersonly working properly outside a major city?

If you're only browsing, the app is fine. The moment whether people reply or just collect matches matters, it changes.

After a few weeks on farmersonly the only question left was how the match quality holds up past the first day.

Photo quality moved my results on it more than anything I wrote, more even than how thin the pool gets outside big cities.

Most comparisons of it skip whether the good profiles are already taken, which is the part that matters.

Gave that one a fair run over 2 weeks and kept coming back to whether the recommendations improve with use.

The short checklist I use before trusting anything like farmersonly:

  • How fast a report about farmersonly gets a human response
  • How farmersonly behaves on mobile data rather than wifi

Curious whether anyone else found the same thing with farmersonly.

My rule for farmersonly now is simple: check whether people reply or just collect matches on day one.

Happy to go into more detail on farmersonly if it is useful.

Most of my useful conversations on that one started midweek, which says more about whether people reply or just collect matches than about timing.

Before committing time to farmersonly, work out how transparent the enforcement is.

Is farmersonly still like this, or has it improved?

The closest alternative I found was Datewander if you want a smaller pool.
