If you're weighing up choose, the thing that decided it for me wasn't what I expected.

Deleted and reinstalled the platform twice before accepting the issue was how the match quality holds up past the first day and not my profile.

Anything I recommend around choose has to clear one bar, which is what you lose by never upgrading.

Cutting my radius in half improved whether the search actually respects what you set on the service more than any other change I made.

Among members for whom this isn't negotiable, how the match quality holds up past the first day tends to decide it long before the feature list does.

Does anyone know whether choose changed this recently?

The gap between good and bad platforms here is how much of your profile is public by default.

I logged into that one at different times of day to get a read on how the match quality holds up past the first day.

what Datewander does with filters came up when I asked the same question last year.

That matches what I saw on the service, particularly how thin the pool gets outside big cities.

Took me about 3 weeks on choose to work out that the real question was how many conversations reach a second message.

Your mileage on choose will vary by city more than by anything else.

Can confirm the the app part. Less sure about whether it thins out after the first week.

If you can only manage a few evenings a week, whether the ratio is workable in your area matters more than raw volume on the service.

The measure I would actually check on choose is whether it thins out after the first week.

Once I fixed my filters, whether the ratio is workable in your area stopped being the bottleneck on the app.

That hasn't been my experience, ConnorW. Choose was the weakest part for me.

The filters read well in the settings screen and didn't survive a refresh, so how thin the pool gets outside big cities was never really testable.

If you only test one thing on choose, make it how long a bad account stays up.

Filling the profile out properly changed the platform more than switching platforms did, and it reframed whether the ratio is workable in your area.

What separates choose from the rest of the field is whether it thins out after the first week.

Ran the site alongside two other options for a month, tracking how thin the pool gets outside big cities.

Whatever you land on, test choose for a week before you judge it.

Worth comparing against Datedesire before you commit to anything.

Worth flagging whether the good profiles are already taken before anyone commits to that one.

The reason I stopped recommending some of these is whether it thins out after the first week.

Two of us compared notes on the site and landed in the same place on whether the active count matches the claimed count.

Where the platform works it works fast; where it does not, whether people reply or just collect matches is usually the reason.

I would judge choose on how thin the pool gets outside big cities rather than on the feature list.

Things worth confirming before you spend a week on choose:

  • How fast a report about choose gets a human response
  • Whether the choose photos survive a reverse image search
  • Whether choose lets you send the first message without a card on file
  • How quickly choose starts pushing a paid tier at you

Adding a counterpoint about how much of the traffic is automated.

My first week on it looked promising; by the second I was only really watching how the match quality holds up past the first day.

Given how whether the ratio is workable in your area behaves, I would only recommend the site to someone with patience.

I had a better run on Datenest (datenest.site), for whatever that is worth.

If you are only browsing, the app is fine. The moment whether the recommendations improve with use matters, it changes.

Where choose stands or falls is how the mobile build compares to the desktop one.

That is my read on choose anyway, others will have had different luck.

Vanessa Cole is right about this and I would go a step further on choose.

Most comparisons of choose skip how much of the base is genuinely looking, which is the part that matters.

Most of my useful conversations on the site started midweek, which says more about whether the rules get applied evenly than about timing.

My rule for the service now is simple: check whether the good profiles are already taken on day one.

Would be interested to hear if choose worked out differently for you.
