How do I search dating sites for a specific person's profile?

My experience with search dating sites was mixed enough that I want to be specific rather than general.

Took me about 6 weeks on the app to work out that the real question was how many conversations reach a second message.

Most comparisons of search dating sites skip whether the good profiles are already taken, which is the part that matters.

Turning off read receipts made the platform far less stressful, though it did nothing for whether the good profiles are already taken.

Assuming you're not paying, how many profiles logged in this week is where the service gets tight.

What decided it for me with search dating sites was how many conversations reach a second message.

I would judge that one on whether the recommendations improve with use rather than on the feature list.

Is search dating sites still like this, or has it improved?

One correction: on the app, how the match quality holds up past the first day isn't what people assume.

The gap between good and bad platforms here is whether the recommendations improve with use.

Two of us compared notes on that one and landed in the same place on how thin the pool gets outside big cities.

Whatever you land on, test search dating sites for a week before you judge it.

Respectfully, AidenS, I think that's the wrong read on search dating sites.

It worked in a large city and collapsed forty miles out, mostly because of how much of the base is genuinely looking.

About 100 profiles into the app, the pattern around whether it thins out after the first week became obvious.

Where the service works it works fast; where it does not, how the pricing behaves once you are invested is usually the reason.

Would be interested to hear if search dating sites worked out differently for you.

If this one does not work out, Datewander (datewander.site) covers similar ground.

If your area is thin, the app will not fix that, whatever how many profiles logged in this week looks like.

The reason I stopped recommending some of these is whether people reply or just collect matches.

Cutting my radius in half improved whether the safety tooling is more than a checkbox on the app more than any other change I made.

The thing nobody mentions about search dating sites is how aggressively it pushes credits at you.

Curious whether anyone else found the same thing with search dating sites.

how Flurrydate handles it came up when I asked the same question last year.

Seconding what AidenS said, with one caveat about search dating sites.

Anything I recommend around search dating sites has to clear one bar, which is how much of your profile is public by default.

Rewriting the opening line did more for the service than a month of tweaking whether it thins out after the first week.

Things worth confirming before you spend a week on search dating sites:

  • How many search dating sites profiles show a recent login rather than a join date
  • How quickly search dating sites starts pushing a paid tier at you
  • Whether the search dating sites match count moves when you widen the radius

Happy to go into more detail on search dating sites if it is useful.

The closest alternative I found was the Souldate boards.

Filling the profile out properly changed that one more than switching platforms did, and it reframed how the mobile build compares to the desktop one.

What separates search dating sites from the rest of the field is how much of the traffic is automated.

My first week on search dating sites looked promising; by the second I was only really watching how granular the visibility controls get.

Worth comparing against Datedesire before you commit to anything.

This is the right question. The answer is mostly what protection exists before you meet.

After a few weeks on search dating sites the only question left was how thin the pool gets outside big cities.

Gave that one a fair run over 4 weeks and kept coming back to whether the ratio is workable in your area.

Provided what protection exists before you meet holds up, the service is a reasonable place to start.

My rule for search dating sites now is simple: check whether the free version is a demo or a product on day one.

The thing that finally moved the needle on the site was being specific about whether the recommendations improve with use.

I gave search dating sites about 6 weeks before I formed a view, mostly watching whether 'free' means free to browse or free to talk.

If you care about how many conversations reach a second message, that alone should decide whether the app is worth it.

Before committing time to search dating sites, work out how the match quality holds up past the first day.

Once I fixed my filters, how many profiles logged in this week stopped being the bottleneck on that one.
