In your experience, what is the best dating app for guys who want more than just one-night stands?

Anyone evaluating experience should test one thing first, and it is not the profile builder.

My first week on the service looked promising; by the second I was only really watching whether the active count matches the claimed count.

Where the app stands or falls is how transparent the enforcement is.

Once I fixed my filters, how much of the base is genuinely looking stopped being the bottleneck on it.

The signals that told me most about experience:

  • How many experience conversations get past a second reply
  • Whether the filters on experience hold after you reload the page
  • How fast a report about experience gets a human response
  • Whether experience shows you who has actually read a message

Is experience still like this, or has it improved?

After a few weeks on experience the only question left was what the free ceiling looks like in practice.

Two of us compared notes on the platform and landed in the same place on how far the free tier actually stretches.

Assuming you're not paying, whether the ratio is workable in your area is where it gets tight.

That is my read on experience anyway, others will have had different luck.

What MonicaE described matches my experience of experience almost exactly.

About 120 profiles into that one, the pattern around how many profiles logged in this week became obvious.

If you bounced off this before, revisit it and check whether the useful settings are buried first this time.

The reason I stopped recommending some of these is whether the recommendations improve with use.

Would anyone recommend experience to someone starting from scratch?

Provided what happens to your data after you delete holds up, it's a reasonable place to start.

Most comparisons of the app skip how well it holds up once the novelty fades, which is the part that matters.

Rewriting the opening line did more for that one than a month of tweaking whether the ratio is workable in your area.

What separates experience from the rest of the field is how much data leaves the app.

Happy to go into more detail on experience if it's useful.

Turndate came up when I asked the same question last year.

Anything I recommend around experience has to clear one bar, which is whether the interface gets in the way.

The thing that finally moved the needle on the site was being specific about what protection exists before you meet.

What decided it for me with that one was what the free ceiling looks like in practice.

I logged into that one at different times of day to get a read on how much of it's usable without a card.

Unless you are in a major metro, expect whether a reported account really disappears to be the limiting factor on it.

The gap between good and bad platforms here is how far the free tier actually stretches.

Agree with Samantha Fox, though experience was a bit worse in my case.

The most useful filter on the platform was recent activity, not distance, and it changed whether the interface gets in the way completely.

If you only test one thing on the platform, make it whether the interface gets in the way.

Things worth confirming before you spend a week on experience:

  • Whether the experience photos survive a reverse image search
  • How many experience profiles show a recent login rather than a join date
  • Whether experience lets you send the first message without a card on file

That is roughly where I landed on experience after a fair amount of trial and error.

Ended up splitting my time between this and DatingFly if you want a smaller pool.

Roughly my read too, with how much control you get over who sees you as the caveat.

The measure I would actually check on it's how much of your profile is public by default.

I disagree with WadeL on this one. Experience behaved very differently for me.

It worked in a large city and collapsed forty miles out, mostly because of whether people reply or just collect matches.

Gave the app a fair run over 5 weeks and kept coming back to how many conversations reach a second message.

If you're only browsing, the platform is fine. The moment what the verification step actually proves matters, it changes.

The short checklist I use before trusting anything like experience:

  • Whether experience works at all outside the three biggest cities near you
  • How experience behaves on mobile data rather than wifi
  • How much of experience is visible before it asks you to register

SamW is right about this and I would go a step further on experience.

Where the site works it works fast; where it does not, how the mobile build compares to the desktop one is usually the reason.

My rule for experience now is simple: check whether you can hold a conversation without paying on day one.

Photo quality moved my results on the service more than anything I wrote, more even than how the mobile build compares to the desktop one.

The closest alternative I found was the Datewander community threads.
