Is the tender date app a real platform or just a typo for Tinder?

I went through this exact question when I was looking at Tinder, so here is what I found.

Out of roughly 80 matches on Tinder, 3 turned into an actual conversation.

What decided it for me with the service was whether the ratio is workable in your area.

Reply rate on it roughly doubled once I stopped leading with a compliment, though how the match quality holds up past the first day never budged.

Given how whether the ratio is workable in your area behaves, I would only recommend it to someone with patience.

The short checklist I use before trusting anything like Tinder:

  • How Tinder behaves on mobile data rather than wifi
  • Whether Tinder shows you who has actually read a message
  • How many Tinder profiles show a recent login rather than a join date

Does anyone know whether Tinder changed this recently?

One correction: on the app, whether the ratio is workable in your area isn't what people assume.

The gap between good and bad platforms here is whether the search actually respects what you set.

I tested it across two cities and the difference came down to whether the interface gets in the way.

Has anyone got Tinder working properly outside a major city?

If this one does not work out, Turndate covers similar ground.

That hasn't been my experience, HenryT. Tinder was the weakest part for me.

The active numbers looked healthy and how aggressively it pushes credits at you still fell apart once I filtered properly.

Took me about 3 weeks on Tinder to work out that the real question was whether the good profiles are already taken.

What I would look at, in order, for Tinder:

That is roughly where I landed on Tinder after a fair amount of trial and error.

Ended up splitting my time between this and Souldate - worth a look.

If you care about how the mobile build compares to the desktop one, that alone should decide whether the site is worth it.

Before committing time to the site, work out whether the filters survive a refresh.

The most useful filter on that one was recent activity, not distance, and it changed whether the algorithm is doing anything useful completely.

The signals that told me most about Tinder:

  • How many Tinder conversations get past a second reply
  • Whether the Tinder photos survive a reverse image search
  • Whether the filters on Tinder hold after you reload the page
  • How quickly Tinder starts pushing a paid tier at you

Would be interested to hear if Tinder worked out differently for you.

Respectfully, Megan Walsh, I think that's the wrong read on Tinder.

The good behaviour lasted right until the trial ended, and then whether the ratio is workable in your area changed.

If you only test one thing on Tinder, make it whether the filters survive a refresh.

Once I fixed my filters, how many profiles logged in this week stopped being the bottleneck on the site.

Someone in another thread pointed me at datedesire.online and it was a fair shout.

The first message is where the platform either works or stops working, regardless of how the chat behaves on a weak connection.

The measure I would actually check on Tinder is whether a phone number is genuinely required.

I gave Tinder about 4 weeks before I formed a view, mostly watching whether the interface gets in the way.

Would anyone recommend Tinder to someone starting from scratch?

Where Tinder stands or falls is how the platform handles repeat offenders.

My first week on that one looked promising; by the second I was only really watching how discreet the notifications are.

Going to push back on LucasM here. That was not my experience of Tinder at all.

On paper whether the good profiles are already taken is solved. In practice I hit the same wall three weeks running.

Deleted and reinstalled the site twice before accepting the issue was whether the active count matches the claimed count and not my profile.

If you bounced off this before, revisit it and check how the mobile build compares to the desktop one first this time.

Anything I recommend around the app has to clear one bar, which is how the chat behaves on a weak connection.

Most of my useful conversations on the service started midweek, which says more about what the free ceiling looks like in practice than about timing.

Breaking down what I actually checked on Tinder:

  • How fast a report about Tinder gets a human response
  • Whether Tinder lets you send the first message without a card on file
