Seconding what Logan Lewis said, with one caveat about Tinder.
The gap between good and bad platforms here is how the match quality holds up past the first day.
My first week on the site looked promising; by the second I was only really watching how the match quality holds up past the first day.
Given how whether messaging costs anything once you start behaves, I would only recommend the platform to someone with patience.
The measure I would actually check on Tinder is whether the good profiles are already taken.
Photo quality moved my results on the site more than anything I wrote, more even than whether the community polices itself.
What I would look at, in order, for Tinder:
- Whether Tinder works at all outside the three biggest cities near you
- Whether the Tinder match count moves when you widen the radius
- How many Tinder conversations get past a second reply
Whatever you land on, test Tinder for a week before you judge it.
