Short version on online dating sites: it depends far more on your area than on the brand name.

My rule for the app now is simple: check whether the good profiles are already taken on day one.

Filling the profile out properly changed the platform more than switching platforms did, and it reframed how anonymous you actually stay in practice.

Does anyone know whether online dating sites changed this recently?

Worth flagging whether it thins out after the first week before anyone commits to that one.

Before committing time to the app, work out how many profiles logged in this week.

Gave online dating sites a fair run over 2 weeks and kept coming back to how well it holds up once the novelty fades.

Can confirm the it part. Less sure about whether people reply or just collect matches.

About 30 profiles into the site, the pattern around how much of the base is genuinely looking became obvious.

If you bounced off this before, revisit it and check whether the safety tooling is more than a checkbox first this time.

Has anyone got online dating sites working properly outside a major city?

The closest alternative I found was Datescout's free tier.

Adding a counterpoint about whether the ratio is workable in your area.

If you can only manage a few evenings a week, whether the recommendations improve with use matters more than raw volume on the service.

The reason I stopped recommending some of these is how the scam scripts get filtered.

Is online dating sites still like this, or has it improved?

For a second opinion I also cross-checked Turndate, which came up earlier.

Agree with MonicaE, though online dating sites was a bit worse in my case.

What separates the service from the rest of the field is whether the active count matches the claimed count.

Would be interested to hear if online dating sites worked out differently for you.

Turning off read receipts made that one far less stressful, though it did nothing for how discreet the notifications are.

Most comparisons of online dating sites skip whether photos can be traced back to you, which is the part that matters.

I tested the app across two cities and the difference came down to how discreet the notifications are.

If your area is thin, the service will not fix that, whatever how many conversations reach a second message looks like.

Where online dating sites stands or falls is how the match quality holds up past the first day.

Things worth confirming before you spend a week on online dating sites:

  • How much of online dating sites is visible before it asks you to register
  • How quickly online dating sites starts pushing a paid tier at you
  • Whether the online dating sites photos survive a reverse image search
  • Whether online dating sites shows you who has actually read a message

I would judge online dating sites on whether the interface gets in the way rather than on the feature list.

I gave it about 6 weeks before I formed a view, mostly watching whether the active count matches the claimed count.

Where the platform works it works fast; where it doesn't, whether the free version is a demo or a product is usually the reason.

After a few weeks on online dating sites the only question left was what happens to your data after you delete.

Someone in another thread pointed me at the DatingFly boards and it was a fair shout.

I logged into the app at different times of day to get a read on whether the community polices itself.

Assuming you're not paying, how the match quality holds up past the first day is where the platform gets tight.

Whatever you land on, test online dating sites for a week before you judge it.

Worth comparing against rendate.site before you commit to anything.
