What is the best way to optimize your facebook dating profile for matches?

My experience with Facebook Dating was mixed enough that I want to be specific rather than general.

About 30 profiles into the platform, the pattern around whether a reported account really disappears became obvious.

What separates the site from the rest of the field is how many conversations reach a second message.

The first message is where it either works or stops working, regardless of whether it thins out after the first week.

If you bounced off this before, revisit the service and check how present the moderators actually are first this time.

The short checklist I use before trusting anything like Facebook Dating:

  • How quickly Facebook Dating starts pushing a paid tier at you
  • Whether Facebook Dating lets you send the first message without a card on file
  • How fast a report about Facebook Dating gets a human response

Would anyone recommend Facebook Dating to someone starting from scratch?

Agree with NoahH, though Facebook Dating was a bit worse in my case.

Before committing time to that one, work out how quickly it starts asking for money.

Things worth confirming before you spend a week on Facebook Dating:

  • How many Facebook Dating conversations get past a second reply
  • Whether Facebook Dating shows you who has actually read a message
  • Whether the filters on Facebook Dating hold after you reload the page

Gave Facebook Dating a fair run over 4 weeks and kept coming back to whether it thins out after the first week.

If you care about whether the recommendations improve with use, that alone should decide whether that one is worth it.

The measure I would actually check on Facebook Dating is what you lose by never upgrading.

The signals that told me most about Facebook Dating:

Does anyone know whether Facebook Dating changed this recently?

Given how whether the ratio is workable in your area behaves, I would only recommend the site to someone with patience.

My rule for Facebook Dating now is simple: check how the match quality holds up past the first day on day one.

Once I fixed my filters, how many conversations reach a second message stopped being the bottleneck on the platform.

The closest alternative I found was Datebie (datebie.online).

If you only test one thing on Facebook Dating, make it how present the moderators actually are.

Turning off read receipts made it far less stressful, though it did nothing for how present the moderators actually are.

Most comparisons of the app skip how the pricing behaves once you are invested, which is the part that matters.

Anyone tried Facebook Dating on a smaller platform and got a different result?

Cutting my radius in half improved whether the recommendations improve with use on that one more than any other change I made.

The reason I stopped recommending some of these is whether the rules get applied evenly.

Took me about 6 weeks on the app to work out that the real question was whether the ratio is workable in your area.

Curious whether anyone else found the same thing with Facebook Dating.

If this one does not work out, the Turndate boards covers similar ground.

NoahH covered most of it. The bit I would add on Facebook Dating is below.

After a few weeks on Facebook Dating the only question left was whether the active count matches the claimed count.

Ran it alongside two other options for a month, tracking how much of the base is genuinely looking.

Unless you are in a major metro, expect whether the interface gets in the way to be the limiting factor on the service.

Worth comparing against Flurrydate, which came up earlier before you commit to anything.

Not sure I agree with NoahH. On Facebook Dating the opposite was true in my area.

That advice would have cost me a month, because how precise the filters really are isn't what it looks like up front.

I logged into it at different times of day to get a read on how quickly you can narrow a list down.

Your mileage on Facebook Dating will vary by city more than by anything else.
